West Bend, WI – The Museum of Wisconsin Art is thrilled to invite guests to experience an unforgettable evening of music and art at MOWA AGLOW: A Candlelight Concert with Present Music on Saturday, April 19 at 6 p.m. Visitors will view the museum galleries in ambient lighting while enjoying cocktails and the mesmerizing sounds of A Dust in Time, a meditative composition by acclaimed composer Huang Ruo.
This unique performance will be brought to life by Milwaukee-based ensemble Present Music, featuring Ji-Yeon Lee (first violin), Kyung Ah Oh (second violin), Erin Pipal (viola), and Adrien Zitoun (cello).
“We are thrilled to present this exclusive, one-night-only event at MOWA,” said Brianna Fischer, the museum’s Director of Development. “It’s a rare opportunity to experience live music in an ambient setting that enhances every note.”
One of the nation’s leading ensembles specializing in contemporary compositions, Present Music is renowned for commissioning and performing groundbreaking works.
Dedicated to engaging audiences in innovative and thought-provoking musical experiences, the ensemble has collaborated with many of today’s most celebrated composers, cultivating one of the largest audiences for new music in the country.
The evening’s schedule begins with a cocktail hour and gallery viewing 6 p.m., where attendees can take in MOWA’s featured exhibitions, including No Agenda: Fred Stonehouse and Sherrie Levine’s photography installation, After Russell Lee: 1-60.
At 7 p.m., guests will enjoy an intimate candlelight concert from Present Music. General seating for MOWA AGLOW starts at $35, while preferred seating in rows 1 and 2 is available for $50.
