A motorcycle was traveling directly behind the car and was operated by a 56-year-old Village of Richfield man. The motorcycle operator proceeded to conduct a passing maneuver, attempting to pass the car in front of him to the left at the same time the car was making a left turn.
The motorcycle operator struck the car, lost control, struck a pole and was ejected from his motorcycle.
It’s believed the operator of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Due to the motorcycle operator’s injuries Richfield Fire requested Flight for Life air ambulance to respond to the scene and the subject was transported from the scene by Flight for Life.
The operator of the car was not injured, and an uninvolved witness remained on scene and gave Law Enforcement a statement.
This is a working story and more information will be posted when details are available.
