1 person injured in motorcycle crash on I41 in neighboring Fond du Lac Co. | By Sgt Brett Handschke

July 26, 2024 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On Thursday, July 26, 2024, at approximately 10:27 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a single motorcycle crash on I-41 southbound near Military Road, in the Township of Fond du Lac.

It was reported that the motorcycle was occupied by the operator and a passenger. Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene, along with personnel from the City of Fond du Lac Fire Department.

Upon investigation, it was determined a southbound motorcycle on I-41 experienced a rear tire burst. The operator of the motorcycle could not maintain control of the motorcycle and laid the bike down. The motorcycle driver and passenger fell with the bike and came to rest on I-41 in the right lane.

I-41 between Johnson Street and Military Road was closed for approximately 30 minutes for emergency crews. The operator of the motorcycle was flown by ThedaStar to ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah for serious injuries and the passenger was transport via ambulance to St. Agnes with minor injuries. Assisting agencies included the City of Fond du Lac Fire Department, City of Fond du Lac Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The operator of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. The passenger of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.

At this time, the names of the individuals involved are not being released as the investigation is ongoing by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
