Local celebrity waiters including Bink Steinbach, Jeff Lambie, Mike Sterr, and Rick Gilbertson helped serve more than 200 neighbors in the community who came to support Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County.
The Tea by the Sea fundraiser was held Sunday afternoon at the West Bend Mutual Prairie Center. The total raised from tips alone was $4,621 and the West Bend Mutual table alone raised $2,000.
The first tea fundraiser was 10 years ago. “We prayed on the day of the tea and our gross proceeds collected about $6,000. This is unbelievable, how far we’ve come in 10 years and I’m eternally grateful for the support,” said Judy Phillips.
“We can’t do it without the power of our volunteers and we thank them very much. Thank you also for your heartfelt contributions to our organization,” said Janean Brudvig, President and Executive Director of Interfaith Caregivers.
World War II veterans Margaret Behlen and Alice Bryne were honored guests at the Interfaith fundraiser.
