More details released on pedestrian struck by vehicle

Nov. 29, 2016 – West Bend, WI – PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY VEHICLE 1100 Block of West Washington Street

On November 28, 2016, at 6:46 PM, a 15-year-old girl was crossing West Washington Street in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle making a left turn from Y Drive. The pedestrian was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of minor head and knee injuries. Police cited the driver, a 24-year-old male, for Failure to Yield Right of Way to Pedestrian.

OWI
On November 28, 2016, at 1:49 AM, a West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for failure to stop for a flashing red traffic control signal and observed signs that the driver was intoxicated. The 29 year old West Bend man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .149% in a PBT, and was arrested for OWI. The man was also cited for Failure to Stop at Flashing Red Signal and No Vehicle Insurance.

900 Block of Jefferson Street
On, November 27, 2016, at 12:09 AM, A West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for displaying registration plates that did not belong to the vehicle. During the investigation the officer observed signs the driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. The 25 year old West Bend man failed the standardized field and was arrested for OWI (drug related). The man was also cited for Unauthorized Display of Vehicle Registration, Non-Registration of Motor Vehicle, and No Vehicle Insurance.

OWI – 2ND OFFENSE / HIT & RUN
1700 Block of South Silverbrook Drive
On November 26, 2016, at 6:35 PM, a 42 year old West Bend woman reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle and the vehicle fled the scene of the crash. The woman followed the vehicle and contacted the Police. A West Bend Officer stopped the vehicle a short distance away from the crash and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The 59 year old West Bend man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .168% in a PBT, and was arrested for 2nd Offense OWI and Hit & Run. There were no injuries associated to the crash.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT / CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
1200 Block of Wayne Road
On November 25, 2016, at 10:27 AM, a West Bend couple reported that at approximately 1:00 AM, they were awoken to someone kicking and pounding on the door to their residence. When they went to investigate they discovered an intoxicated neighbor at the door trying to get in. The couple confronted the man, and he stated he thought he was at his apartment. The man lived in an apartment in a neighboring building. Officers located the 23 year at his residence and arrested him for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property.
