May 6, 2020 – West Bend, WI – Please take a moment to meet Series 6 Registered Representative Justin Nothem. Justin has been in the finance industry for over seven years with Modern Woodmen.
In Justin’s free time he enjoys aviation, working on the house, in the garage, or in his woodworking shop, grilling out with his friends and family, playing chess, and playing his guitar and ukulele around the fire.
I’m a member of… United Way Emerging Leaders of Washington County, the local Chamber of Commerce and I’m on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County; I’m also a Big Brother myself.
I can help you plan for life using a variety of tools, including… life insurance, annuities, mutual funds and variable annuities.
I enjoy working with… families, retirees, those approaching retirement and business owners.
I am very proud of… being rated one of the advisors in Modern Woodmen in 2019, earning Century Club in 2016, receiving the Fraternal Insurance Counselors Bronze Certificate and Fraternal Insurance Counselors Quality Service Award in 2015, and being chosen to be the student commencement speaker of my graduating class of 2012 at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.
I chose Modern Woodmen because… Modern Woodmen is a large family. Modern Woodmen not only gives me the tools to help members reach their financial goals, but also to do activities that bring the community together on a regular basis. This includes volunteering as well as social activities such as ice cream socials.
The best part of my career is… the life-long relationships I have built with my clients. Over time, many of my clients have become great friends. I am blessed to be a part of the special moments in people’s lives whether it be new baby being born, a wedding or someone’s retirement. This is why I do what I do.
A favorite moment in my career was when… I was new to the industry. I was in a meeting and helping a couple plan out their retirement. I could physically see the sense of relief they had after sitting down. That was the moment I really felt pride in what I do. To this day, I still get the same chills every time I sit down with someone and can give them that sense of relief. It reminds me I truly love what I do.
What you should know…
- The SECURE ACT (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) was recently passed and implemented as of December 20, 2019. It can significantly affect your retirement as well as the taxes on your retirement for both you and your beneficiaries. If done correctly, we can use the SECURE Act to our advantage and make sure that both you and your loved ones are taken care. I look forward to sitting down with you and working together to make sure you and your family are taken care of.
- If you have a local non-profit organization or cause that you are passionate about, let me know. I am always looking for ways to get involved and bring people together to help make our community a better place!
