July 5, 2021 – West Bend, WI – UPDATE – Michael Leinen has been found safe.
Washington County Sheriff’s dispatch said at 5:33 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021 that a Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 76-year-old West Bend man, Michael Leinen, who was last seen around 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 4.

Some details about Leinen are posted below:
- white male, 5’8″ tall, weighing 155 pounds, hazel eyes, and brown hair.
- last seen wearing gray shorts and white t-shirt that read “Leinen family reunion.”
- last seen Sunday leaving 179th Avenue S/E in Fairmount, North Dakota in his 2005 white GMC Yukon.
- Leinen was driving a 2005 white GMC Yukon Denali XL with Wisconsin license GF9785.-
- The vehicle was pulling a 12-foot utility trailer with wood sides and an unknown plate.
- Officials said Leinen was headed to home to CTH P in West Bend, WI and has not shown up.

Family said they last heard from Leinen around 9 a.m. on Monday, July 5. Leinen said he was lost and traveling on I-90 west. He is not answering his cell phone; family believe the phone battery is dead.
The Silver Alert said Leinen would regularly stop for gas in Somerset, Wisconsin when making this trip. He would normally use I-94 east from Fairmount to Highway 33 east to West Bend and would frequent waysides on I-94.  written on it.
