June 15, 2024 – Slinger, WI – Gilbert “Gib” J. Strupp, 88, of Slinger, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home and within the care and love of his family.
Gib was born March 19, 1936, in Germantown, WI, to Linda (nee Elsinger) and Sylvester Strupp. He grew up working on the farm until he joined the United States Army in 1954, serving our country for 2 years, and was a longtime member of the Allenton American Legion Post 483 . After the service he started working for his father at Strupp Implement.
Gib gave 67 years of his life dedicated to his business, working up until his death.
Gib was united in marriage to Dianne D. Reid on March 15, 1980, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger, where they were longtime members. He was a member of the Hartford Sportsman Club and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren, as well as his special fishing buddies, Nate, Wayne, John, Mike and Mitch.
Gib was committed to his business, family, and faith. He had a love for traveling but couldn’t get home fast enough. No one knew the backroads better than Gib. His heart was always fulfilled when he had a four-legged friend waiting for him at home, or even riding along side him.
Gib is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Strupp; loving children, Danny (Debbie) Strupp, Danny (Donna) Fox, Ronnie Strupp, Christine Goetz, Donna (Tommy) Knight, Denise (Tim) Rutley, Connie Strupp, Leonard (Kim) Wantz, John Stupp, and his furry daughter, Maisey; 20 cherished grandchildren and 33 cherished greatgrandchildren; dear siblings, Maury Strupp, Roger Strupp and Joan Rice. He is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and great friends.
Gib was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Floraine and Donna; grandson, Zane; among many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial for Gib will be celebrated Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 215 Main Street, Allenton, WI 53002, with The Very Reverend Father Richard Stoffel officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. -12:45 p.m.
Immediately following Mass, committal will be held at the New-St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Slinger, WI. If desired, please wear Gib’s favorite color, blue.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gib to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the Honor Flight, and/or to Daily Living with Fr. Chapin, in care of the Strupp Family, are appreciated.
