On Wednesday the Washington County Sheriff’s Office along with the Allenton Fire Department and West Bend Intercept responded to a report of a 68-year-old Waupaca County man that required medical attention during a goose hunting outing in the 5800 block of St. Anthony Road in the Town of Addison.

The time of call was 7:30 a.m. The subject was hunting with a friend during the incident. After a lack of shooting when the geese passed within range, the friend responded to the area and found the subject having a medical episode which was first reported to be a heart attack.

The patient was located by first responders a half mile off the roadway. The Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with the department’s utility task vehicle (UTV), but the surface of the ground was adequate enough to support a truck which was ultimately used to transport the subject to the rescue squad.

He was then conveyed to St. Joseph’s Froedtert Medical Hospital. Medical first responders believe the subject suffered a stroke rather than a cardiac event.
