Man injured in Dodge Co. accident cited with 18th offense operating with suspended license

Dec. 7, 2017 – Dodge Co., WI – On Nov. 29, 2017 at 11:06 a.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 33 at the intersection with Cth V, in the Township of Hubbard, Dodge County.

Preliminary investigation shows that Jose Bermudez, 25, from West Allis, was operating a Honda 4-door was traveling south on Cth V approaching the intersection with Sth 33 (Cth V traffic is controlled by stop signs at the intersection with Sth 33).

Cody Hanefeld, 29, from Beaver Dam, was operating a Peterbilt straight truck towing a trailer which was traveling west on Sth 33 approaching the intersection with Cth V.

The Honda entered the intersection and the two vehicles collided.

Bermudez suffered serious injuries and was flown to Aurora Hospital in Summit by Flight for Life. Hanefeld was not injured in the crash.

Bermudez was cited for: 18th offense Operating While Suspended, 9th offense Operating without insurance, Failure to stop at stop sign and Failure to wear seat belt.

Assisting at the scene was: Wisconsin State Patrol, Horicon Police, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Flight for Life, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Dodge County Highway Department, Horicon EMS, Iron Ridge Fire and 1st Responders.
