August 13, 2017 – Dodge Co., WI – On Sunday, August 13 at 2:41 a.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single motor vehicle crash on County Trunk Highway R at the intersection with County Trunk Highway SC, in the Township of Lebanon, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Preliminary investigation shows a 27-year-old man from Loveland, Colorado was operating a 1996 Nissan 2-door car eastbound on Cty Tk Hwy R, approaching a curve at the intersection with Cty Tk Hwy SC.
There were two passengers in the car, including a 20-year-old male from Loveland, Colorado and a 45-year-old male from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The vehicle failed to negotiate the curve at the intersection with Cty Tk Hwy SC. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned before striking a utility pole.
The male passenger from Loveland, Colorado was ejected from the vehicle. The male passenger from Minneapolis was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc via medical helicopter with life threatening injuries.
The male passenger from Colorado was transported by ambulance to Watertown Hospital, then transferred to UW-Hospital in Madison with serious injuries.
The operator of the car received minor injuries and was transported to Watertown Hospital.
Assisting at the scene was: Watertown Police Department and EMS, Lebanon EMS and Fire Department, Flight for Life and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
Identifications of those involved in the crash are being withheld until Monday, August 14, 2017.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
