Students learn to spread the love of Christ to all | By Ozaukee Christian School

April 1, 2022 – Washington County, WI – A smile rooted in Jesus’ love spreads joy like no other because it draws on living water. Christ offers us the joy of salvation, though we have not earned it, and he commands us to spread his love to everyone we meet.

At Ozaukee Christian School, fifth and sixth-grade students took this command to heart and traveled to The Threshold in West Bend to love and connect with adults of varying abilities over a game of bingo.

The fifth and sixth graders were challenged to serve the clients and reflect Christ, regardless of how different their new friends seemed.

“The students showed maturity in the Lord by demonstrating their love and patience with each client’s needs.”

Some students encountered a nonverbal adult. God guided them to speak quietly and gently.

“Jesus’ love was demonstrated to all of the clients at The Threshold.”

“Through [our] smiles and gentleness, the clients relaxed and enjoyed the game,” said a student.

By the time the students were ready to leave, not a soul had gone untouched by their deeply-rooted love.

“Just look at all the smiles around the room!” said a Threshold staff member.

A chaperone reflected, “Our students realized the gift they had given [to the clients] simply by making time to be there with them.”
