January 18, 2022 – Slinger, WI – Thank you for voting for me in past elections. My name is Roman Weninger and I have served on the Slinger School Board for the past nine years. During my time on the board, I have helped lead Slinger School to improve to first-class status.
We focused on the Tech Ed Department preparing Slinger School students to be career ready when they graduate. We also know the importance of higher education by preparing Slinger students for their academic future by continuously focusing and providing college AP courses which enhance opportunities for Slinger students to earn many outstanding scholarships.
While serving on the board we improved and enhanced our Slinger facilities. We added a Performing Arts center that has seating for 800 people. We widened the outdoor track to eight lanes, we added an additional baseball field, and a new concession stand along with very needed restrooms. We did this without raising taxes.
I assisted in the Charter of the Slinger Youth Football program and was the first fund raising chairperson. I served as president of the football program for 2 years. I served on the Slinger Honours Inc. board for 6 years and was president for 3 years. Our Honours Inc. board awarded thousands of dollars to hard working, very deserving students. I assisted in raising over $100,000 for lights on the soccer field and constructing a donated storage facility for the sports complex.
I served with the Allenton Lions Club and helped charter the Town of Cedarburg Lions Club where I served as President and Secretary.
I served on the Automobile Dealers Association of Metro Milwaukee Board and was Treasurer and board chairman. In 2018 I also served as the president of the Auto Show Gala and helped raise over $100,000 for Special Olympics.
Recently I was awarded the Birch Strum Fellowship Award for unselfish dedication to Humanitarian Projects through the Wisconsin Lions Foundation.
I went to Slinger Schools K through 12. My wife of 38 years, Kristine, and our three children all went to Slinger Schools K through 12.
We love the Slinger School District and as your School Board representative I will work very hard to keep Slinger strong.
Remember to vote Roman Weninger for Slinger School Board on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
