March 10, 2022 – Slinger, WI – Our family of six moved to the Slinger School District five years ago and specifically chose Slinger over Hartford or West Bend due to the School District’s stellar reputation. The Slinger School District not only provides a great place for children to learn, socialize, and be involved, it also increases the value of property throughout the district.
Throughout the pandemic, I have felt fortunate to live in a district that permitted in-person learning and made masks optional. I have seen many great districts go down wayward pathways both in Wisconsin and nationwide. Just one hour north of us, Neenah School District (a fairly conservative community), recently implemented disturbing sex ed curriculum including teaching 1st graders that gender is a choice. The decision was made by school board members whose individual ideals failed to reflect the values of the teachers and parents within the district. Just as freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction; school districts are never more than one administration or school board away from becoming debased.
The current Slinger School Board incumbent candidates have shown that they are comfortable resting on the district’s laurels. Parents’ efforts to review district wide curriculum for the purposes of ensuring Slinger schools are not intentionally or unknowingly participating in political indoctrination have been met with resistance and condescension from the currently seated school board incumbents. When we are trusting a highly rated and well-funded School District to educate our kids, transparency in curriculum and instruction is imperative.
On April 5, please vote ONLY for Bill Brewer for Slinger School District School Board. Bill has been leading the charge in maintaining educational excellence and transparency. He will help ensure that the path forward in Slinger remains focused on quality education.
Sincerely,
Monica Ammerman
Slinger School District Resident
