“We are thankful to receive this significant funding and will determine the most effective use of these dollars to provide excellence in policing to our community,” said Police Chief Tim Dehring. “We are exploring a number of initiatives in our long-range plan, including deployable assets for critical incidents and the possibility of a new canine unit.”
“Last October, I was proud to announce a $45 million investment into addressing the cycle of violence and crime that for too long has gone uninterrupted. This is another public health crisis that deserves our attention and our action,” said Governor Evers.

The determination of an agency’s amount is a formula based on the population served and includes a violent crime add-on for locations where violent crime exceeds the statewide average. These allocations are funded through the state’s American Rescue Plan Act funds.

  1. I find this hilarious how 1 1/2 years ago Evers was ridiculing law enforcement especially what happened in Kenosha. He called out the cops without having any facts in front of him, and now he wants to make it look like he is pro law enforcement. The guy is nothing but a clown trying to make himself look good because it is an election year.
