KML cross country finishes East Central Conference journey

Kettle Moraine Lutheran’s cross country girls varsity team took second and the boys varsity got sixth at the East Central Conference meet at Tuscumbia Golf Course, Green Lake on Saturday, Oct. 15.

 

There were eight schools competing in this conference: Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Berlin, Campbellsport, Plymouth, Ripon, Winneconne, Kewaskum, and Waupun.

 

Junior Catherine Miller strongly led the pack by coming in 6th in the varsity girls race with a time of 21:02.

Freshman Naomi Gahan, junior Abby Miller, and senior Emmalie Olsen were also medaled by being in the top 14 runners.

Also junior Micah Dykema and freshman Jacob Stoltz received medals finishing in the top 14.

Freshman Austin Schaff got recognition of honorable mention (top 15 – 21 runners) by coming in 19th.

Overall, the Chargers challenged themselves and pulled out another strong finish by bringing six medals home.

This year’s East Central Conference Championship Plaque went to Plymouth and KML took second.

 

KML’s next run for JV will be at Non-Sectional at Mayville Golf Course on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. and varsity will next run at WIAA Sectional at Lincoln Park, Milwaukee on Saturday Oct. 22 at 11:30 a.m.
