Nov. 29, 2016 – Jackson, WI – Kettle Moraine Lutheran opened its boys basketball season with a 57-51 win at University School of Milwaukee.
Led by forward Walt Taylor, the Wildcats’ relentless defensive pressure caused several Charger turnovers, leading to easy baskets at the other end.
University School led 27-24 at the break, and held onto this advantage for much of the second half.
KML seniors Joey Behm and Tanner Stuck kept the Chargers within striking distance with strong performances.
Behm led all Chargers with 19 points, while Stuck added 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double.
With 8 minutes to go, KML took the lead after a 6-0 run fueled by fast-break points from Behm and Solomon Zarling.
The Chargers never looked back, holding the lead the rest of the way to beat USM for the fifth consecutive time.
Next on KML’s schedule is its East Central Conference opener at Berlin on Friday.
