Nov. 17, 2016 – Jackson, WI – Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School opened its boys basketball season on Monday, beginning practices for the varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams.

The varsity squad is coming off a strong 16-8 record from last season, but it needs to replace 8 graduated seniors, including all five starters.

Returning to the team are seniors Joey Behm, Mason Shambeau, and Tanner Stuck, as well as juniors Grant Biesterfeld and Andrew May.

These five are joined by a strong class of juniors, who won conference on the JV team last season, losing only once.

Though the roster is young, the team is confident they will be able to contend both in the East Central Conference and the state tournament.

Junior point guard Grant Biesterfeld said, “I am extremely excited for this upcoming season because the group of guys we have are one of the most athletic and exciting teams I have been a part of. We also have great chemistry coming into the season and we should come together nicely as the season gets started.”

The Chargers open the season Nov. 29, taking on University School of Milwaukee.
