Feb. 1, 2019 – Jackson, WI – After a 4-4 tie with 12minutes to go in the first half, Kettle Moraine Lutheran took the lead and never looked back as the Chargers matched up Friday night against Winneconne.
KML led the Wolves by double digits. Winneconne cut the lead to four with 3:39 to play. The nail-biter began as Winneconne cut the lead to a single possession with 2:15 to play.
Both teams shot the double bonus until the end with Winneconne big man Greg Murawski fouling out.
With a 1:27 on the clock, Winneconne was down 3 and called a timeout as KML was set to inbound.
KML’s Daniel Cain fouled Winneconne’s Marshal Scheider which put him on the line for two.
The senior cut the lead to 1 point with 1:23 to go.
In the final minute Cain made 1 of 2 free throws to go ahead by 3 and Winneconne immediately laid it up.
A foul put KML on the line with 43 seconds to go.
Ethan Duba made both from the charity stripe to go up 3 points.
After a missed Winneconne lay up, KML took possession and was fouled.
KML’s Jacob Stolz hit them both to put KML up 5 to seal the game and the victory, 69-66.
