June 15, 2020 – West Bend, WI – The City of West Bend will hold its annual Horicon Bank Fourth of July Fireworks display. There are a couple of caveats:
· Fireworks will launch from Riverside Park on July 4, 2020 at dusk. The park will be closed to spectators. The show will not include ground displays. Instead, it will incorporate all high-flying fireworks to make the show visible from afar.
· Residents are encouraged to watch the fireworks from their homes or live on the City of West Bend Facebook page.
· Parking is available on streets and public parking lots within close proximity to Riverside Park. Spectators are asked stay near their vehicles and to be respectful of resident driveways.
After much consideration, the West Bend Fourth of July Parade and Regner Park activities will not take place this year. Riverside Park will be closed for the entire day in preparation for the fireworks display. There will be no concessions or public restrooms available for the event.
What a joke. Why even have it. We encourage you to watch it on our Facebook page-are you kidding? LET THE PEOPLE OF WEST BEND MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS ABOUT BEING OUT IN PUBLIC. Treating the citizens of West Bend like they were naughty children-you can have fireworks but you cant really enjoy them. STAY HOME – STAY NEAR YOUR CAR. I think these so called leaders are just being lazy and probably just find it easier to restrict or cancel the Summer of 2020 so they don’t actually have to think of how to put on an event in West Bend. AN OUT DOOR EVENT too! Same people who wont open Regner park for swimming? I hope everyone keeps track of these decisions when it comes to electing these people again. I am sure you will be able to find these so called leaders at the Kewaskum or Hartford fireworks. Covid seems to be good excuse for LACK of leadership.
Thank-you Kellbell! Couldn’t have said it better myself. Bunch of spineless elected officials we have!!.
Seems like a good decision by the city of west bend. Good job by all involved looks like a sound and safe plan.
Thank you for keeping it safe! Covid is still very much a concern.
