According to a press release issued by Jackson Police Chief Jed Dolnick, “The Village of Jackson Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call for help at a single family residence at 6:47 p.m. on July 1, 2016. An officer used deadly force and a 57-year-old Washington County man suffered fatal injuries; no officers were injured.
The incident will be investigated by an outside agency, in accordance with state law. Jackson police requested the assistance of the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). DOJ will be responsible for all subsequent updates.”
