Jan. 12, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The Washington County District Attorney’s Office said during Wednesday’s court appearance regarding a sex assault allegation against former Slinger High School band director David Hanke, that two more investigations of Hanke are pending.
The disclosure came as the attorney for the DA’s office argued for higher bail. “The state believes now that charges have been issued a cash bail is appropriate and we would be recommending an amount of $2,500 to $5,000 cash. There is an ongoing investigation, the District Attorney’s Office was contacted possibly by an additional victim and there is another individual who came forward to a law enforcement officer so those investigations are also pending,” she said.
Hanke was ordered to post $2,500 cash bail. He is also ordered to have no unsupervised contact with females under age of 16. No contact with HLB or RAS.
If convicted of the Class D Felony, Hanke faces up to $10,000 in fines or up to 10 years in prison or both.
