Hartford, WI – The Student Council at Hartford Union High School (HUHS) is coming together in support of Kinsley Wenzel, a spirited and courageous 2 ½-year-old who has been battling neuroblastoma since her diagnosis on October 28, 2024.
Despite undergoing four cycles of chemotherapy, Kinsley continues to spread joy, sharing her infectious smile and heartwarming hugs with everyone she meets.
Inspired by Kinsley’s resilience, the HUHS Student Council has launched a community-wide fundraiser this Saturday, March 15, starting at 10 a.m. in the HUHS Fieldhouse.
The event has a silent auction with everything from tools to ski passes to day spa treatments and even a dodge ball tournament for the students and brave adults.
“Our hearts go out to Kinsley and her family during this challenging time,” said Holly Oleshko, HUHS Student Council advisor. “Her strength and spirit are truly inspiring, and we hope everyone in the community can come and enjoy the event.”
Kinsley is the daughter of Hartford Fire & Rescue Captain Kyle Wenzel. After undergoing surgery at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in February, the Wenzel family received the news they had been hoping for—Kinsley is officially CANCER FREE. This event will help with Kinsley’s family pay for medical expenses and show solidarity in her fight against childhood cancer.
Kinsley’s mother Holly Wenzel said, “Thank you for thinking of our family for your Dodgeball Fundraiser. The support we have been shown through Kinsley’s cancer journey has been one we can’t fully put into words of appreciation. Thank you won’t ever seem like enough!”
