5 fire departments respond to house fire in Town of Polk | By Asst. Chief Brad Schaefer

July 3, 2024 – Town of Polk, WI – On Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 6:16 p.m., the Slinger Fire Department and Lifestar EMS were dispatched to the 3500 Block of Highway 175 in the town of Polk for a residential house fire. Responding law enforcement reported an active fire in the home upon arrival.

Crews were quickly dispatched to the scene and the incident commander upgraded it to the working still level for additional resources to respond.
Upon arrival, the initial Engine Company attack crew found heavy smoke coming from one corner of the first floor. Upon entry, they discovered a growing room and contents on fire.
Crews made a rapid attack and extinguished the fire. It did not extend beyond the first room however much of the residence sustained smoke damage.
Crews were on the scene for just over an hour to conduct overhaul and operations cleanup. The cause of the fire was not suspicious in nature and was also assessed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
No injuries to residents or firefighters occurred and there is no damage estimate reported. No further information will be released at this time.
