7 departments respond to house fire in Town of Barton | By Sgt. Alexander Herriges

West Bend, WI – On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 4:17 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire at a single-family residence in the 6700 block of Jansen Dr N in the Town of Barton.

The fire was reported by the homeowner. She was able to evacuate the residence along with the remaining three occupants and their dog.


Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with West Bend Fire Department. Upon the arrival of fire personnel, they reported that the residence was fully engulfed.

West Bend Fire was also assisted on scene by fire departments from Jackson, Slinger, Newburg, Kewaskum, Allenton, and Kohlsville. Jansen Dr N was closed for the duration of the investigation.

There were no injuries to the occupants of the home or any personnel on scene due to the fire. The residence sustained severe damage. Preliminary property loss estimates were not available at the time of this release.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the West Bend Fire Department, however, initial investigation on scene points to the fire originating in the attached garage of the residence as this was captured on home video surveillance.
