A bit of excitement Tuesday morning at Poplar and Silverbrook Drive as contractors hit a 4-inch gas main. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 10:05 a.m.
West Bend Fire Chief Gerald Kudek the gas main was pretty large and it was a significant break. Emergency crews evacuated six homes for about two hours while We Energies worked to repair the main.
No injuries were reported and there was no threat to teachers or students at Silverbook Intermediate.
