West Bend, WI – In an effort to recognize academic achievement, personal growth, and dedication to Christian values Holy Angels School in West Bend, WI highlights three students for the month of Marcy 2025 including Joey Dorow, Jackson Becker, and Averie Spaeth.
6th Grade: Averie Spaeth
At first, you might think Averie is the classic good kid who keeps her head down and just attends to her own responsibilities. Truthfully, she is a wonderful student who pays attention, stays focused and always does her best work. However, she is also a good leader. She leads by example by being polite, kind and respectful. She also leads by taking on responsibilities like joining Student Council as a classroom representative or by speaking up when ideas need to be heard. Averie does all this while juggling a demanding gymnastics schedule. In fact, she wants to coach gymnastics when she grows up.
7th Grade: Jackson Becker
Jackson is that best of all students, a child who not only takes pride in learning, but also shows curiosity and searches out knowledge. Jackson is not afraid to work hard and is willing to put in extra effort when necessary. The music teacher explains that he has put in extra time and practice to learn his solos in the upcoming spring musical. This year, Jackson has shown personal growth, seeking out opportunities to help others like when he volunteered to add another student to his group project. While there are many possibilities in the science and engineering world for him to pursue, he has said he would like to grow up to be a Disney imagineer.
8th Grade: Joey Dorow
The junior high teachers reflect on how much the 8th graders have grown over the past three years, and Joey has probably grown the most. His academic confidence and willingness to put in the effort to learn has increased tremendously. Joey has always been a respectful student, but he has become more outgoing, both among peers and teachers. He makes an effort to connect with people by showing interest, empathy and humor. He has said that he hopes to continue growing into “the best version of” himself. Joey is a gifted athlete, especially in football. He loves interacting with nature, playing football and hanging out with friends. If he doesn’t end up a professional athlete, he says he would like to be a police officer.
