December 30, 2019 – Richfield, WI – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in a high-speed chase that came out of Fond du Lac County on Saturday, December 28. Two women were eventually taken into custody.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff:
On Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1:30 a.m., a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling on Interstate 41 near County Road Y, in the Township of Byron. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop after witnessing a speeding violation of 93 mph in a posted 70 mph zone. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and continued traveling southbound on Interstate 41.
Deputies soon entered Washington County where speeds increased to 105 mph. Washington County Deputies and Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in the pursuit through Washington County. Tire deflation devices where deployed at several locations but were unsuccessful in slowing the vehicle. Ultimately the driver of the vehicle stopped on Interstate 41 near Pioneer Road in Washington County, where deputies had another tire deflation device set up.
The driver, a 28 year-old female from Green Bay was taken into custody for Felony Knowingly Fleeing and Officer. A 27-year-old female passenger from Bonduel was also taken into custody for resisting arrest, threats to Law Enforcement, discharging bodily fluids at a Public Safety Worker and several warrants. There were no injuries nor damage to property during the pursuit, which spanned a total distance of 25.3 miles.
