Nov. 16, 2016 – West Bend, WI – It’s a story you heard first on WashingtonCountyInsider.com  as Pat LaBuda was retiring and the corner Jiffy Stop, 111 E. Decorah Road, would close.

LaBuda, 66, has just a couple days left in business and she’s trying to sell as much stock as possible. She’s marked down candy bars and is selling the shelving.

A couple of hot-ticket items including alcohol and tobacco are also on sale.

In an effort to send Pat out on a high note neighbors in West Bend are encouraged to stop by, wish her well and buy a thing or two to show your support for a difficult decision and celebrate her dedication to the community.

“This is very difficult,” she said. “But I have health issues and I want to enjoy the last years of my life and the only way to do that is retire and close the store.”

Property owner Jacobus Energy Inc. is turning the store portion of the building over to the karate shop next door.

LaBuda plans to close up shop on Friday.  Stop in for a deal and say goodbye and “thanks” to Pat.
