Water Main Break: We had a water main break on Wacker Drive next to the bridge north of 60th. No one went without water.
Proposed Federal Changes to FLSA impacts City: The proposed federal changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act could result in the changing of eight City employees from exempt salary to non-exempt hourly. Under the new law, only those over the $50k threshold could be eligible for exempt status. There are other criteria they would also need to pass which we are reviewing. The major impact will be either financial or managerial in how we allow these middle managers to work.
Fire Dept holds Prescribed Burn: The Hartford Fire Department held a prescribed burn in the Central Middle School Conservancy Prairie on Monday night. This is the first time they held such a controlled burn in this area. All indications are it went well and served as a good training exercise.
Friends of the Library Book Sale: Friends of the Hartford Library is holding its annual book sale April 13 – 16 in the atrium of the library.
Stop Lights taken out in Ice/Snow Storm: Last week Thursday during the horrible ice/snow storm, we had two stop lights hit along Hwy 60. Utilities helped replace them early this week.
Hwy 83 project update: As of Monday, AT&T was still working on some issues prior to the road being closed down for reconstruction. Monday they will be closing parts of 83 up to Lincoln & North to local traffic only. Through traffic will be rerouted.
Hwy 60 Reliever Route Update: SEWRPC will be meeting with a few City representatives on Friday, April 15 to get local information on the different options. They have another meeting scheduled with other Hartford area representatives
