Hartford Union High School Rotary students of the month for January 2023 | By Kayla Davis

Hartford, WIThe Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce Isabelle Navarre and Adam Weyer were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month.

The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of January.

Hartford

Isabelle Navarre is the daughter of Jamie and Joseph Navarre. Navarre is a member of the National Honor Society, H-Club, Student Council (Grades 9-11), and the Math Team at HUHS. She has played club soccer with the Hartford United Soccer Club since 4th grade. Navarre has earned varsity letters in girls’ tennis and girls’ soccer. Navarre is also a member of the VBC choir at HUHS, and this year her choir, along with the Concert Choir, will be taking a trip to New York over spring break. She has also been in three musicals at HUHS; Shrek, The Adams Family, and Legally Blonde, in various ensemble parts.

Navarre volunteers at the Hartford Aurora Clinic once a week, helping with any tasks that need attending. Through H-club she has worked concessions and helped with the Shamrock Shuffle, Operation Christmas Child, Enchantment in the Park, the Lincoln School Fun Run, and Special Olympics Swim. Navarre has also worked at the HUHS summer soccer camps and at Vacation Bible School for The United Methodist Church. 

After high school, Navarre plans to attend UW-LaCrosse to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and pursue a medical degree.

 

Adam Weyer is the son of Lanae and Tony Weyer. Weyer is a four-year member of the boys’ cross-country team, the boys’ track team, and the Student Council. He served as captain of the cross-country team for two years. The cross-country team won conference and sectionals two years and finished 8th in the WIAA Cross Country State Championships. Weyer also qualified for WIAA Track State Championships in the 1600-meter run and twice in the 3200-meter relay. Hartford’s 3200 relay team won the state championship in 2022.

Weyer was selected to the WCCCA Academic All-State team in cross country in 2021 and the North Shore Conference 1st Team All-Conference in cross country in 2022. He was also named Northeastern Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association award-winning journalist across 5 categories. In the Student Council, Weyer served as an executive board member and secretary and currently serves as president of the organization. 

Weyer is an Eagle Scout with Bronze and Golf Palms and served many years leading Troop 139 in Hubertus. He also serves as a youth minister at St. Gabriel’s Parish teaching middle schoolers. 

After graduation from HUHS, Weyer plans to attend UW-LaCrosse to study finance, minor in accounting, and run cross country and track. He would eventually like to attend UW-Madison to earn a master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking.
