Hartford Rotary Students of the Month | By Janet Jocham

January 4, 2022 – Hartford, WI – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce that Ashlee Bull and Rebecca Stoeckmann were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month.

The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of December.

Ashlee Bull is the daughter of Krista and Nick Bull. Bull has played on the girl’s tennis team for all four years in high school. She was also on the track team her freshman year. Bull is a member of the Math Club and National Honor Society. She has been part of the school’s newspaper, the Hartford Chronicle, for two years. This year, she is an editor for the feature and entertainment sections. Last year, Bull received 1st place at the NEWSPA awards for the category IN-Depth Writing.

In her free time, Bull volunteers at Trinity Lutheran School in Mequon to help teachers and students. She has volunteered with Support the Troops making care packages for soldiers overseas. She has also volunteered at Ruby’s pantry in Hartford. During the summer, Bull works at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center as an admissions attendant. This past summer, she helped coach tennis lessons for kids and adults through the Hartford Recreation Department.

After graduation from HUHS, Bull plans to attend college to study biomedical sciences or biochemistry with the hope to work on a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Rebecca Stoeckmann is the daughter of Jessica Algiers and Erik Stoeckmann. At HUHS, Stoeckmann is a member of the Varsity Girls Basketball and Varsity Girls Soccer Teams (4 years), the SMART Team (1 year), National Honor Society (2 years), and H-Club (4 years).

She is also a member of the Madison 56ers and Hartford United Soccer Clubs. Stoeckmann received special recognition by being named HUHS December Athlete of the Month (2020), Girls Basketball North Shore All-Conference Second Team (2020), Girls Soccer North Shore All-Conference First Team (2021), Girls Soccer All-State Honorable Mention (2021), MVP Girls Soccer and Golden Boot Award (2021) and West Bend Daily News Soccer Player of the Year (2021).

Through the National Honor Society and H-Club at HUHS, Stoeckmann has volunteered her time, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, running the Shamrock Shuffle, collecting food, toys, and monetary donations for the high school’s annual food and toy drives, cleaning local parks and cemeteries, mulching at Sycamore Tree Day Care, and selling food and beverages at the HUHS concessions stand. She has also helped coach at local youth basketball camps during the summer.

In the fall, Stoeckmann will attend the University of Memphis to study biology and exercise science. She will continue her soccer career playing on the University of Memphis women’s division one soccer team on a scholarship. a 4-year college to study engineering. He has toured Madison, Purdue, Duke, North Carolina, and North Carolina State but at this time, he has not decided which school he will be attending.
