Hartford Police Department Shop with a Cop 2016

12

Dec. 10, 2016 – Hartford, WI – This year, like previous years, many community businesses, organizations, and private citizens from Hartford generously donated money to the Hartford Police Department in order to facilitate HPD’s Shop with a Cop program.

The Shop with a Cop program has a significant impact in building positive relationships between the Police Department, our local businesses, and the Hartford community.

On Dec. 3, 2016, the Harford Police Department held its annual Shop with a Cop event.  Fifteen families participated, and presents were bought for a total of 84 family members.

A special surprise present for each child was donated by Den Master Matt Stachura and the Cub Scouts of St. Kilian’s Pack 3741.  Over 70 of these surprises went home with the families we served this year!  A BIG “Thank you” to these fine young men!

Volunteers from Westbury Bank of Hartford and Hartford City Administrator Steve Volkert were on hand to manage the distribution of the Cub Scouts generous gifts.  Westbury also collected almost $350 in donations from its customers to go toward the purchase of presents this year!  Thank you!

After shopping, the children enjoyed food donated by Subway.  They also played games and interacted with the officers while their gifts were wrapped by volunteers from Wellspring Community Church of Hartford.

Members of the Hartford Police Department, Hartford Explorers, and officers from the Town of Hartford Police Department donated their time to spend with the kids and help them shop.

Sponsors of this year’s program donated over $4,700.
