July 16, 2024 – Hartford, WI – The Hartford Police Honor Guard presented colors at the RNC 2024 convention Monday evening.
“The opportunity was fantastic,” said Hartford Police Chief Scott MacFarlan. “Very proud of my officers. Very honored to have the opportunity to present to the nation. Well done.”

MacFarlan said he was at home watching the event “with extreme pride.”
“What an amazing opportunity for us to showcase our Honor Guard in front of the nation,” he said. “They’ve been at Brewers games and parades, but this definitely tops them all.”
The Hartford Police Department has two officers working security at the RNC today, Tuesday, July 16, 2024. “There were requests made months earlier about resources and what we could bring, and I committed two officers, which is the most I could do considering staffing here,” he said.

The 2024 Republican National Convention will take place July 15–18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The goal of the Republican National Convention is to officially nominate and confirm a candidate for president and vice president, adopt a comprehensive party platform, and unify the party, as well as publicize and launch the fall campaign.
