September 23, 2019 – Slinger, WI – The rain held off Saturday afternoon, September 21, as the Hartford Historical Society presented its tour of the Union Cemetery in Slinger.
The most interesting story was by the docent representing Auguste Klose. The details of the death were both horrific and scandalous as the woman died at the hands of her “low life” husband Charles Klose in the Village of Schleisingerville on February 18, 1887.
It was a tale so terrible it would have made the national news.
