February 9, 2021 – Town of Hartford, WI – Hartford Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 for a shed fire located on Kettle Moraine Drive in the Town of Hartford.
Upon arrival the unoccupied, 48’ x 53’ building was fully involved in fire.
Fire crews battled the fire and extreme cold conditions until about 4 p.m. Damages are estimated to be $250,000 as the building and all of its contents were a total loss.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
While Hartford was busy fighting the fire, mutual aid departments that were called in to backfill Hartford’s station responded to four subsequent ambulance calls in the City of Hartford.
The Mutual Aid Box Alarm system operated as it is designed resulting in no response delays due to the large call volume.
This is the second large loss fire that Hartford Fire Department has responded to during this recent cold.
Hartford Fire and Rescue Department was assisted by Lifestar EMS, Slinger Fire Dept., St. Lawrence Fire Company, Allenton Volunteer Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department and Rescue, Iron Ridge Fire Department, Ashippun Fire Department, Richfield Volunteer Fire Company, Mayville Fire Department and West Bend Fire Department.
