February 29, 2024 – Slinger, WI – Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) will run for re-election in the 58th Assembly District. He released the following statement:
“It has been six years since I was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly. During that time, I have been committed to conservative policies that cut taxes, invest in our workforce, improve our education system, restore faith in our election system, and reduce crime. However, there’s more work that needs to be done. That’s why I am announcing my re-election for the Assembly.
“During this session we stopped the radical agenda of Governor Tony Evers and his left-wing allies. We stopped massive tax increases and bloated government spending.
“I worked with my Republican colleagues to bring Governor Evers to the negotiating table. Our legislative achievements from this session include a historic shared revenue bill that has benefitted many communities, the largest expansion of school choice in our state’s history, the elimination of the personal property tax, and bills that get tougher on crime.
”If re-elected, I will continue to advocate for common sense conservative legislation that will move Wisconsin forward.
“I hope the conservative movement in our state rises up to support all Republican state legislators and works to elect a candidate who will defeat Tammy Baldwin in the election for U.S. Senate. We must win up and down the ballot.”
