Hartford, WI – Grand-Dad’s Bakery opened (again) in downtown
Hartford inside of Scoop De Ville, 65 N. Main Street.
Grand-Dad’s Bakery used to be a staple in the downtown many years ago when Michael Vieth first opened the shop in 1983 on Jackson Street, where Puebla’s Kitchen is currently.
After 25 years in business Vieth sold the shop; he and his wife Martha worked there briefly for the new owner. After they left the new owner went out of business in two years.
Now, after a 13-year hiatus Grand-Dad’s Bakery is back.
“We’re so happy to be back in business in Hartford and see all the smiling faces,” said Martha. “We’re blown away at how busy we are… it’s actually been a challenge keeping up with the demand.”
