With the win the Warhawks finished the season at 29 – 1. The team also handed Hudson its first loss of the season 24-1.

No. 2 seed Hudson came into the game super aggressive. The Raiders jumped out to a 13-3 lead and it looked like they had Germantown’s number.

Earlier in the day, Germantown coasted to a rather easy victory over Verona, 76-57, but Hudson came out of the gate on all cylinders.

While the Raiders were consistent, the Warhawks were cold.

Against No. 4 seed Verona the Warhawks set a new WIAA state tournament record with 42 attempts behind the 3-point line. While they found their mark in the Saturday morning matchup, now it seemed they couldn’t buy a basket… nor could they get a second shot.

At 10:25 in the first half Germantown took a time out. The Warhawks trailed 17 – 9 and when they returned to the floor, it was like someone flipped the switch and they came out of the gate on fire rattling off a dozen points and tying the game at 21-21.

Senior Jaelyn Acker, who finished with 28 points against Verona along with a record setting 7 3-pointers, finally knocked down a pair from behind the arc and Germantown climbed to a 26- 25 lead.

At the half it was Germantown ahead 32 – 28.

The second half of the game featured a clinic by Germantown sophomore Kamorea Arnold as she clicked off 13 points late in the game often scoring in back-to-back-to back possessions.

Arnold finished with 30 points vs. Hudson. Add that to the 27 she had against Verona and Arnold is a strong favorite for the all tournament team.

This is a working story and more details will be added as information becomes available.
