Six departments respond to house fire in Village of Germantown | By Germantown Fire Department

Novermber 5, 2020 – Germantown, WI – At 2:37 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2020 the Germantown Fire Department responded to a structure fire with smoke and flames showing from the rear of the residence on Catskill Lane in the Village of Germantown.

Engine 1762 along with ambulance 1752 rolled out the door along with the Batallion Chief and Chief Delain.
As they responded, a rescue call was paged out within seconds and the Batallion Chief diverted 1752 to the rescue call. After the “all call” went out for additional personnel, truck 1771, engine 1764 and ambulance 1756 all responded.
Upon arrival they were met with a multi-story residential on fire with flames and smoke on the “charlie” side (back of the residence) with the upper floor and roof involved. Reports indicated the residence was not occupied at the time.
The Batallion Chief activated MABAS 17-1-1 (additional departments and equipment) to the working structure fire.
Responses by Richfield, Menomonee Falls, Jackson, Slinger and Mequon were quick and precise. Cedarburg was a special request for an additional engine but cancelled.
Initial exterior attack by the crew on 1762 knocked down the bulk of the fire on the exterior Charlie side.

– Ambulance (staffing our station)

During this fire call, the Germantown Fire Dept was paged out to three other rescue calls, an unauthorized burn call, and a grass fire involving a trailer.
The fire is under investigation and thankfully there were no injuries.
