Rain and possibly snow tonight with frost ahead in Washington County and neighboring communities

The National Weather Service is calling for a possible rain mixed with snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 36. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Showers likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 48. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Widespread frost, mainly after midnight. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 29. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

“Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold,” according to the National Weather Service.

In 2020 the first frost advisory of the season was September 18, 2020.
