April 24, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a freeze watch for Washington County and surrounding areas. NWS issues a freeze watch when there is a potential for significant, widespread freezing temperatures within the next 24-36 hours. A freeze watch is issued in the autumn until the end of the growing season and in the spring at the start of the growing season.

A freeze watch is in effect from late Wednesday night through early Thursday morning.Â
* WHAT…Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees possible.
* WHERE…Portions of east-central, south-central, and southeast Wisconsin.
* WHEN…From late tonight through early Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
