Free S.T.E.M. Saturday, March 24 at UW-Washington County campus in West Bend

Feb. 24, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – The University of Washington County Continuing Education Department is excited to announce the first “Free S.T.E.M Saturday” planned for March 24 at the West Bend campus.

Families are invited to discover the amazing world of S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Hands-on activities are planned to challenge participants’ minds in computer programming, robotics, and engineering.

Holly Wehrhahn, Continuing Education Director, explained, “Free S.T.E.M. Saturday is about families supporting their students as they begin to develop an interest in S.T.E.M., and eventually pursue higher education. Students will create their own game in the game making lab; program a robot; engineer a roller coaster or a parachute; and have time to explore a college campus.”

“Free S.T.E.M. Saturday!” takes place at UW-Washington County (400 S. University Drive in West Bend) on Saturday, March 24 from 10:00am-noon. Registration is free; families can also enjoy free snacks and enter to win door prizes. Parents (and other adults attending) will have an opportunity to preview UW-Washington County’s “UW Summer College for Kids Camps” and learn more about the Computer Programming, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical, and Civil and Environmental summer week long engineering camps, available for students ages 8-14.
