December 21, 2021 – West Bend, WI – A portion of Highway 144 just south of Wallace Lake Road was closed on Sunday, December 19, 2021, following a gas line strike at 7003 Hwy 144.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department reports a 6-inch main was struck by a construction crew. The roadway was shut down shortly before 10 a.m.
WBPD had a squad restricting northbound traffic on Hwy 144 and WCSO had a deputy at 144/Wallace Lake Road.
The road reopened around 1 p.m.
