City of Fond du Lac Police investigates shots fired | By Fond du Lac Police

January 1, 2025 – Fond du Lac, WI – On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the City of Fond du Lac Police Department investigated a complaint of shots fired in the area of S. Brooke Street and Western Avenue.

“Preliminary information and surveillance camera evidence suggest this shooting is an isolated and targeted incident,” said Chief Aaron Goldstein. “The shots fired between these two vehicles in our city are both concerning and unacceptable. FDLPD is fully committed to ensuring the safety of our community, and we will not tolerate individuals who choose to put others at risk with their reckless and senseless criminal behavior. We will work tirelessly to hold those responsible accountable for their actions here.”

At approximately 11:46 p.m., FDLPD Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call about possible gun shots being heard on S. Brooke Street near Western Avenue. Callers described seeing several vehicles in the roadway and believed shots had been fired from at least one vehicle in the direction of the other vehicle. The suspect vehicles had fled before FDLPD Officers arrived.


Upon arrival FDLPD Officers found evidence that a shooting had occurred between two vehicles and also located video footage of the incident. Possible bullet holes were located in a nearby residence. FDLPD Officers were able to confirm that no one was injured inside that residence. No other injuries or property damage were reported to the police or to local hospitals.

FDLPD has begun to process and assess evidence, conduct neighborhood canvasses, and review various video surveillance. The investigation remains a priority for FDLPD and is active and ongoing.
