Flight for Life called to injury accident in Slinger

August 22, 2020 – Slinger, WI – On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 6:22 pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single vehicle roll-over accident located on I41 northbound approximately a half mile south of Highway 60 in the Village of Slinger.

Sheriff’s Dispatch was also advised that the adult female driver was currently unconscious inside the upside down vehicle. Deputies and personnel from the Slinger Police Department, Slinger Fire Department, and Lifestar Rescue were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Flight for Life was requested to the scene.  After being treated by on-scene emergency medical personnel, the injured driver, a 22-year-old City of Fond Du Lac woman, was subsequently flown to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with head, arm, and chest injuries.

A single lane of I41 northbound was closed for approximately one hour for the crash investigation.

A preliminary investigation into the cause of the accident revealed that the woman had been driving northbound on I41 when she drove off the roadway to the left, struck a construction barrel, then went off the roadway to the right.

 

The crash remains under the investigation of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, impairment is believed to a factor.
