March 20, 2017 – West Bend, WI – West Bend Police made five arrests for OWI during the weekend of Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19.
700 Block of South Main Street – On Friday, March 17, 2017, at 10:53 PM, a West Bend police officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The 23 year old Slinger man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .138% in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.

On Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 1:11 AM, a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The West Bend , 59,failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .13% in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.
500 Block of West Paradise Drive
On Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 2:40 AM, a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The 39 year old West Bend man failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI. The man was also cited for Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle and No Insurance.
200 Block of South Main Street
On Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 3:17 AM, a citizen reported he was contacted by an area tavern to provide a ride for a patron of the business. When the man arrived he discovered the female patron asleep in her vehicle with the driver’s door open and the woman partially hanging out of the vehicle with her car keys in her hand. The citizen woke the woman to give her a ride but the woman started the vehicle and drove off. A West Bend police officer located and stopped the vehicle driving on South Main Street. The officer observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The Jackson woman, 21, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .142% in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.
1200 Block of East Washington Street
On Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 12:00 PM, West Bend police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 1200 block of East Washington Street. Investigating officers determined a westbound vehicle turned onto South River Road, crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle. The officer observed signs the driver of the vehicle that crossed over the center line was intoxicated. The 33-year-old West Bend man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .30% in to a PBT, and was arrested for OWI. The man was also cited for Improper Left Turn.
THEFT FROM VEHICLES
1305 East Decorah Road
On Friday, March 17, 2017, at 11:50 AM, a citizen notified police a subject was looking through vehicles in the high school parking lot. Officers responded and took a 46-year-old West Bend man into custody. The man had property in his possession that was taken from 3 vehicles parked in the lot. The man stated he took the items to help support his drug habit. The man was charged with 3 counts of theft.
