Fire Suppression Tool from Slinger helps rescue 2 dogs from house fire in Minnesota | By Fire Suppression Solutions

Washington Co., MN – Fire Suppression Solutions, 3744 Lover’s Lane, Slinger, WI, learned of the successful outcome of a fire in neighboring Minnesota following the use of its Fire Suppression Tool (FST).

On February 19, 2024, tragedy struck the Gisselquist Family in St. Paul Park, MN, as their home caught fire with their beloved dogs trapped inside. Thankfully, a Sergeant with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (Minnesota), equipped with a recently issued Fire Suppression Tool that he had been trained on just days prior, was nearby and ready to jump into action.

Acting swiftly, the FST proved invaluable in effectively suppressing the fire and allowed the St. Paul Park Fire Department to contain the blaze.

Thanks to this timely intervention, both dogs were rescued and reunited with their family while saving their home from further damage.

This is the first documented deployment of this device in the State of Minnesota with these devices donated to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office just weeks ago by the Stillwater St. John’s Masonic Lodge.

The FSTs are bright orange, compact devices that can fit in the trunk of a squad car or a first responder vehicle. These units are manufactured by ‘Fire Suppression Solutions LLC’ and can suppress a rolling fire and dramatically reduce fire and water damage in enclosures like houses, garages, stores, or sheds.

To activate the FST, a trained officer simply pulls two pins before tossing it into the structure. The FST is equipped with an eight-second timer which, once it counts down, releases environmentally safe nontoxic aerosols into the air.

These aerosols, which are safe for humans and pets, will knock down a contained fire up to approximately 5,300 square cubic feet (about the size of a two-car garage), and more importantly, decrease the temperature of the fire by about 1,000 degrees in less than a minute.
