12 fire departments respond to early morning barn fire in town of Fredonia | By Sheriff Christy Knowles

June 1, 2023 – Ozaukee Co., WI – At approximately 2:27 a.m., the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4400 block of Hwy. Y in the Town of Fredonia for a report of a barn fire. Upon deputies’ arrival, the barn was fully engulfed in flames.

No injuries were reported and all animals were accounted for. With the assistance of multiple fire departments, the fire was extinguished at approximately 6:15 a.m. The structure is a total loss.

Property loss management

The 4400 block of Hwy. Y will remain closed for several hours while crews are still on the scene. The fire was determined to be caused by a skid steer and is not suspicious in nature.

The Waubeka Fire Department, Fredonia Fire Department, Belgium Fire Department, Saukville Fire Department, Port Washington Fire Department, Grafton Fire Department, Newburg Fire Department, Cedar Grove Fire Department, Fillmore Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, Silver Creek Fire Department, and the Random Lake Fire Department assisted at the scene.
