VIDEO | 8 fire departments respond to pole building fire in Town of Polk | By Sgt. Brandon Hood

January 18, 2021 – Town of Polk, WI – On January 18, 2021, at approximately 2:08 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a pole building fire in the 3800 block of Mayfield Road in the Town of Polk. The homeowner reported the fire.

There were multiple people occupying the home on the property that was approximately 15 feet from the fire. The home was safely evacuated.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with Jackson Fire Department. The fire department was also assisted by Slinger, Germantown, West Bend, Newburg, Fillmore, Richfield and Cedarburg Fire Departments.
Property loss management
There were no injuries to the property occupants or any personnel on scene as a result of the fire. The pole building and contents were a total loss.
Initial loss estimate is $30,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson Fire Department.
